FPNG will start a new round of classes after the winter break.  What is FPNG you ask? Well…. FPNG is Families Preparing a New Generation, in ten(10) workshops adult family members will develop stronger family communication skills, learn skills for strengthening family practices, receive timely information related to youth options, choices and social outcomes. And will become more proficient at navigation the often transient urban environment in which we live. The workshops run 2.5 hours each week and will be held once a week for 10 weeks, childcare and dinner is provided here on site while you attend the classes. You will be compensated with a $150.00 gift card after completion of the program.  Space is limited to 15 parents, so look for more information to come home with your child or call the front office for more information, we look forward to seeing you there!!



Florence K-8 Student Council took home the Master Council award at the 49th Annual State Convention at the WeKoPa Resort (Formally Fort McDowell).

FK8 is part of the (AAJHSC) Arizona Association of Junior High Student Council. Mission: The association provides programs and experiences for student leaders and their advisors to promote and enhance active leaders in the state of Arizona. Vision:  The AAJHSC has been created to perform and conduct the following: Unite the junior high and middle school (grades 6, 7 and 8) student councils of the state of Arizona into an association. Develop leadership skills in the Student Council members across the state. Exchange ideas and network with member schools. Educate students in the five goals of student council: School Spirit, Academic Achievement, Leadership, School/Community Involvement, Diversity.

Florence K-8 would like to extend the invitation to all the other K8 school in showing interest in possibly joining this prestigious organization next year.
